The Death of Sadaam...a very good day!

Today is a good day! I woke up this morning, turned on the news and heard that one of the preeminent bastards of our age had been hanged until dead. I thought to myself, “The world is at least a little better place to live today.”

Likely, I’m not being a very good Christian in this matter and I don’t mean that lightly. In my defense, the grief and pain caused by this one man and his lackeys is immeasurable and irreparable. Those who have been tortured, raped, robbed, outcast and seen their families slaughtered before their very eyes deserve the swift justice that was meted out to the “Butcher of Baghdad” today. A long walk and a short drop was mercy he did not deserve!

Even before his conviction, those of the liberal, pacifist, panty-waist persuasion were crying their warnings that Sadaam’s execution would only fuel rage against the U.S. and escalate the violence in Iraq. Oh? There hasn’t been violence up to this point? What about September 11? What motivated those pieces of human fecal matter to attack us then? Sheesh! Well, I suppose it is hard for some in our nation to see the light of day with their heads...in the sand.

God save the people of Iraq! They’ve got their first opportunity in history to taste freedom. Once tasted, freedom only makes you want more. It’s like being born again! Is it perfect yet or will it be? No, but it sure beats anything they’ve had before.

Lastly, it seems to me that we could learn a thing or two from this new Iraqi government. Swift justice is the only justice that is actually a deterrent. I can think of more than a few child molesters and murderers who’ve been on death row in our nation far, far too long.

If we expect potential malefactors to take seriously any threat of retribution and punishment, we must knock at least a decade, at least, or maybe two, off the time between committing the felon and when they finally pay for their crimes. Then, follows a rendezvous with the Ultimate Judge in Whose court there is always swift justice and from which there is no appeal.

The Death of Ford

Shock and amazement! President Gerald Ford passes away and it amounts to nothing more to the press, and their comrades in the Democrat Party, than a chance to take a stab at President Bush

I can't watch a news report about Ford's life or death that doesn't commit at least a short portion of it's time to a claim by Bob Woodward that Ford didn't "buy into" the allegations of WMD's in Iraq. Sheesh! Who really cares??? Ford wasn't privy to any information that might've given him any reliable incite into the matter anyhow.

None of that is relevant. This should be about an honorable man who served in a very difficult position at a very difficult time in our nation's history. Yet, even the death of a good man must somehow be turned into a political attack on a man that most liberals and Democrats think is worse than Saddam Hussein himself...George Bush.
