Only in Tennessee?

I was recently reading in my local paper about a man, Tony Hope, who beat his girlfriend, their child and her child from a previous relationship to death. Now as bad as that is, it is only worse because he had been freed from jail about five years ago after he had served five out of fifteen years for second degree murder. It seems he had beat his then girlfriend to death with a skillet. Five years for second degree murder???

Now we have three more dead! What does it take to qualify someone for the death penalty? How many would still be alive today if monsters like him were taken care of permanently? Would some innocents be executed in the process? Possibly...Likely. Still, every war has collateral damage and this is most definitely war. Many fewer innocents die in the prison death houses than are murdered by criminals who no longer fear the not-so-long arm of the law.

Only in Tennessee? A "conservative" Bible-Belt state? Nope. Shamefully, it's happening all over our country. How many more innocents will die while liberal, insulated judges and legislators worry more about criminal rights than the rights of the innocent? How many more innocent will die while Americans keep voting for these losers who turn these beasts loose on our society?
